One might assume that
is the hardest thing I have ever done.
They would be wrong.
That war was easy – “so to speak” –
for there were rules to follow,
orders to obey, and a very clear goal:
picking up the pieces of my life
in the aftermanth
is the hardest thing I have ever had to do,
will be doing.
Because the goal is more complcated
than just to survive,
it’s to LIVE,
and now it’s up to me to make up the rules as I go along.
