Becky Braunstein is a comedian and metastatic thyroid cancer survivor who grew up in Alaska, skied down to America in 2010, and has been keeping Portland weirdly enamored ever since. A top-5 finalist for Best Comedian in the Willamette Week’s Best of Portland, she was featured in Helium Comedy Club’s 2015 ‘Best of Portland’, is a three-time semifinalist in the Portland’s Funniest Person competition at Helium Comedy Club, and hosts at Harvey’s Comedy Club. She has performed at Pickathon, the Hudson Valley Comedy Festival, All Jane Comedy Festival, Big Sky Comedy Festival, and the NW Women’s Comedy Festival.
That may be a lot to bite off in one year, but since she narrowly escaped losing her voice to cancer, you just can’t shut her up anymore. Becky studied for one term at the same acting school that Liam Neeson went to, and has a specific set of skills – which include illustrating #FatAnimals, being able to lip sync the entirety of ‘Pehla Nasha’ from the 1992 hit Bollywood film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and demolitions.
